The very nature of web servers makes sensitive information vulnerable to exploitation; however, there are steps you can take to limit its exposure.
Creating Web Pages
Computing Services provides space for departments and offices on campus that want a web site. Faculty who want a web site for their classes can either use Blackboard or get an account on the Bingsuns system. All members of the Binghamton University community can use their Bingsuns account to create personal web pages. (more...)
Restricting Access to Web Pages
Faculty, and staff can restrict access to their web pages on Bingweb and Bingwww either by host, username/password, or by a combination of both.
Assistance
Individuals and organizations at Binghamton University are largely responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining their own web sites; however, assistance is available in a number of ways:
- The Computing Services Web Warren offers assistance in designing, developing, and enhancing web sites.
- The Technology Training Center regularly offers short courses on Web related topics
