buwireless Authentication Changes Scheduled for January 2008
The Client Validation system that is currently present in the ResNet (Residence Halls) and public spaces will be extended to the buwireless network in order to replace the aging Bluesocket appliance. The change over will occur on January 7, 2008. Blackboard Upgrade Planned for December 19-20
Blackboard will be unavailable December 19th and 20th. This time will be used for upgrades and testing of the fail-over procedures. Testing these procedures is a required part of disaster recovery planning. Blackboard will also be unavailable December 26th and 27th due to the Computer Center power outage. Instructors and students should plan accordingly. If you have any questions or concerns, please call Carol Bell at 7-6398.

List Server Down on Oct. 13 For Maintenance
On Saturday, October 13th, the Binghamton University List Server will be taken off-line from 6:00 AM until approximately Noon to do routine system maintenance. Posting to the List Server will not be possible during these hours.

Mutliple Computing Resources Unavailable Saturday, July 28
Due to installation of new air conditioning to support a server farm adjacent to the ITS operations area in the Computer Center, all computer and network equipment housed in Operations will be powered down and unavailable from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sat. July 28, 2007.

Blackboard Unavailable for Time on April 30, 2007
Blackboard will be unavailable on Monday, April 30, 2007 beginning at 12:00 PM (noon) for approximately one half hour due to necessary system maintenance.

Web Server Maintenance Scheduled
The Binghamton University Web server will undergo routine maintenance beginning at 3 a.m. Friday, March 2, causing the main University web pages (www.binghamton.edu) and many department and office web pages to be unavailable for a few hours. The maintenance is expected to be complete by the start of the business day on March 2.
