Proposed Changes in Security for Wireless Network Outside Residence Halls
Faculty, staff, students who live off-campus and visitors who use the wireless network
are accustomed to seeing the Bluesocket logon screen when they first fire up
a web browser. ITS is proposing to replace Bluesocket with Campus Manager. Several
ITS networking staff will demonstrate the change, discuss the technical effects
of that change and provide users with the opportunity to explore the consequences
of the change.
- What does Campus Manager scan for?
- How often will I have to have Campus Manager scan my machine?
- How will this effect visitors to campus?
If you use wireless networking on campus or are planning to bring guests to
campus who will want to use wireless networking, don’t miss this opportunity
to discuss these proposed changes before they happen.
