"Storm" Surge Likely Spam Culprit
Storm, the Trojan horse that collects PCs into hacker-controlled botnets has become the most prolific e-mail-borne malware ever. According to a computerworld.com article, Storm is designed to propagate more copies of itself, as well as release huge quantities of spam.
Many users have experienced an increase in spam over the past several months, including the recent spate of fake e-cards and some industry analysts are blaming the Trojan horse "Storm" for this surge.
