Computer Virus Outbreak on Campus
Recently, several computers on campus have been compromised due to a variant of a known virus. In all cases, these machines have not had the appropriate Windows updates applied to them and were vulnerable.
These machines have been moved off the campus network and onto a quarantine network. If you cannot connect to the network, your machine may be in this quarantine. You should contact the Help Desk at x76420 for instruction on how to proceed. If you are not sure if your machine is patched, visit campus.verify.binghamton.edu to test your system. You will need your Pod logon ID and password to run the tool. Another option is to visit windowsupdate.microsoft.com and install all critical updates for your operating system.
