Email Addresses

Binghamton University email addresses all end in "@binghamton.edu", BU's Internet domain. They are provided at no cost to all members of the Binghamton University community, and they are served 24/7/365 and securely maintained by the University's own on-campus email servers.

Email addresses are in the form

userID@domain

Where userID is the account name of the person and domain is the name of the mail server. If you have an electronic mailbox account at Binghamton University you would use your userID with the domain  binghamton.edu. So, for example, your email address would look like this:

joesuny@binghamton.edu

If you belong to a department or office on campus which uses its own mail server, your domain will be different. For example, an email address from the Department of Mathematical Sciences might look like this:

joesuny@math.binghamton.edu

Faculty and staff should check with their department first to see what facilities are commonly used.
