Guest Account Request Form

Guest accounts must be sponsored through a valid BU faculty, staff or student. Please fill in all the fields below. If you have any questions, please contact the ITS Help Desk at 777-6420.

Guest Account Policies

Guest accounts will be given one of the following userid naming sequences

1. guesta
2. guestb
3. guestc

followed by numbers (ex. guesta126 or guestc101).

Guest network access levels will also correspond with the userid and are as follows.

Guesta:

http, https (internet) and VPN (Cisco, PPTP) access only, does not require computers to be Campus Manager verified. User's personal computer will connect outside of BU network, similar to a RoadRunner user.

Guestb:

all ports and protocols available to faculty staff and students (ftp, pop3) will be allowed. Access to library sites and Binghamton FTP site will not be allowed. Computers must register and pass Campus Manager Verification. User's personal computer will connect outside of BU network, similar to a RoadRunner user.

Guestc:

will include all access allowed to guestb plus logon to POD computers. Personal computers must register and pass Campus Manager Verification.
